- <p> Tired of Andrew Dice Clay and other foul-mouthed
- comedians? Had it up to here with hate humor? Get ready for a
- kinder, gentler comic. It's beloved TV queen MARY TYLER MOORE,
- who's set to host a Showtime special July 20 from the Montreal
- International Comedy Festival. Moore will share the stage with
- a horde of hot and hungry jokesters, and although she won't
- write her own material, she will help shape the gags. "I'm not
- going to tell a lot of Roseanne Barr kind of jokes," says Moore.
- "I'm going to talk about the kinds of things that are pertinent
- to my life." If all goes well, will Moore start turning up in
- smoky comedy joints? Not likely. "Club life is not my idea of
- fun at this point."
